The Confraternity of Bacalà alla Vicentina was born in Sandrigo in 1987 with the aim of protecting and promoting the ancient and original recipe of “Bacalà alla vicentina”, a typical dish that was in danger of being lost.
The Confraternity has successfully fulfilled its task in its thirty-five years of life with intense organizational, philanthropic and cultural activity.
Over the years, the Confraternity has organized important initiatives to make the bacalà alla vicentina known, in Italy and around the world, by participating in events, culinary exhibitions, food and wine conferences. It is present, with constant and significant frequency in daily newspapers, magazines, periodicals, publications and in various Italian and foreign television broadcasts, with conferences and book presentations.
It offers support to those operating in food and wine and tourism: is present on the web with its own website where you can find all the information relating to bacalà, recipes, history and much other information.
Travel along Via Querinissima
The Confraternity of Bacalà alla Vicentina is very much linked to the history of Pietro Querini.
In 2007 and 2012 it retraced the Via Querinissima: the outward journey by boat, while in 2012 it made the return journey overland with a Fiat 500.
