Musical notes on the Via Querinissima
The I.C. G. Zanella High School of Sandrigo has initiated a twinning program that links its third-year music class with other music institutions along the “Via Querinissima,” including Vadstena, King’s Lynn, Røst, and others. This project is designed to encourage cultural and musical exchange, helping students refine their skills and deepen their appreciation of European heritage through the shared language of music.
A key aspect of the initiative is the creation of a specially commissioned musical comic opera, providing a collaborative platform for students from different countries. The twinning unfolds in two annual phases: a performance by Sandrigo students abroad in May, followed by a return concert in Sandrigo during the Bacalà Festival in September. The program also includes joint musical endeavors, cultural excursions, language workshops, and digital travel diaries to foster engagement and discovery.
This initiative supports essential educational objectives, such as language enhancement, musical growth, and intercultural exchange. It offers students a valuable opportunity to connect with peers, acquire cross-disciplinary skills, and strengthen their sense of European identity.
The project is officially supported by the Municipality of Sandrigo, Pro Loco Sandrigo, and the VQ Association.

The pilot project will involve scholars (from 7 to 14 of ages) from the entire Via Querinissima areas in educational and creative activities.
The aim is to reinterpret Pietro Querini’s journey by creating maps, either on paper or digitally, giving free rein to their creativity.
The project is currently underway and will be completed at the end of 2025.
