Venezia e il pesce bastone: un amore nato secoli fa (Venice and stockfish: a love born centuries ago)

On 2 February 2024, at 17:30, a meeting will be held in the Aula Magna of the Ateneo Veneto. 

The event is organised in collaboration with the Dogale confraternity of Baccalà Mantecato, and the main theme will be Venice and its relationship with baccalà, a traditional local dish.

History, cuisine and tradition come together in this evening that tells of how the stockfish is a food that entered the culture of the Serenissima as a testimonial of the main characteristics of the Republic: trade, cultural exchange between populations and curiosity for the new.
